So one of the many things that came out of SDCC was the announcement that Atom Eve would be getting her own game. And of course I have been waiting for it since. Now they didn’t give us a release date and neither did Steam until about 8 hours before it was dropped. Well I finally got around to playing it.

The game is story based, really a visual novel with interactive elements. It is broken up into chapters which is really good for me who doesn’t know when to stop. It allows for really good, obvious breaking points. I got the feel for it today though it is very good with the tutorial moments so that you can really understand how to interact with the game. I feel like some games do too much with the tutorial when I can just figure it out myself but this had just the right amount of information.
The game is entirely based around Eve and her backstory. That said there is absolutley no consistency with the main continuity of the show. SDCC also released the Atom Eve special where we got to see a lot of her origin and backstory and those writers and the game designers clearly had no communication with each other. I would prefer if the universe expansion stuff was cohesive with what already exists but I guess that’s asking a lot.
