Psych remains one of the best crime serials as well as one of the best television shows ever written. It stays consistent in tone, writing style and quality from episode 1 to the series finale. The show also remains underrated and underappreciated so I’ve decided to make a list of what I feel are the best episodes of the long running TV series. The show ran for 8 seasons and never disappointed. Even after the “will they-won’t they” relationship finally came to be the shows writing never declines. Because at no point did the show hinge itself upon the existence of Shawn and Jules. In fact it was really always about Shawn and Gus. And that is what made this procedural so much more and why the show holds up as good as it does.

Psych was a formative experience for so many people. My brother fully made Shawn Spencer his personality for about a year and a half. And many people’s sense of humor was shaped by this show. My favorite part about its existence is just how much creative control James Roday and Dule Hill had. Later in the series they were producers, writers and directors on the show.
