We have just finished watching Shang-Chi for the 11th time which I’ve got to say is quite a bummer after watching the Winter Soldier yesterday. Now we are starting to get into Marvel’s overall problem with consistency. As i said we just watched Winter Soldier in which we established that the course of human history, at least since world war 2 was controlled and set forth by Hydra. So the idea that at the beginning of Shang-Chi they say that the Ten Rings were responsible for the course of history is actually laughable. So here we are trying to make sense of the fact that Shang-Chi is really good at ignoring the context of the world that it exists in. I really have a hard time with that but it is what it is. I just ask that going forward the production staff on Marvel movies be given a vague notes sheet for everything they might need to know about the existing universe and characters for the movie that they are working on. Because this is really getting exhausting as someone who has seen everything.

I also go on a bit of an acting and directing rant. But overall this movie is just getting mind-numbing. Its not technically getting worse but it most certainly is not getting better. We are halfway through phase 2 of our MCU rewatch but we are nowhere near halfway through for this movie. We in fact have to watch it 29 more times. As we continue with the Ten Rings we will also be talking outlining the lore of the MCU as it has been set up in the early phases and how the later points of the MCU detract from that pretty completely. I realize that sometimes its harder to keep the finer plot points consistent but for the major lore stuff there is really no excuse.
