Anime Expo 2024 was a thrilling experience for anime fans, filled with exciting announcements from major companies. From upcoming video games to new anime series premieres, there was something for everyone. As anime is still very new to me, this was my first Anime Expo and honestly it was a little overwhelming. There were so many people there and honestly major cons in LA are never a fully pleasant experience. Downtown LA is not set up for that many people. All that said once I got inside I was floored by how cool the exhibit halls were. All of the booths were insanely cool and well built to highlight whatever company hosted it. The biggest convention I had been to before this was SDCC last year, which was significantly smaller because of the writers strike. So honestly it just made me really excited for what SDCC will be this year.
Beyond the exciting announcements, Anime Expo 2024 was a vibrant celebration of anime culture. Attendees enjoyed cosplay, gaming demonstrations, and incredible booths. However, the highlight of the event was undoubtedly the numerous announcements that promise a wave of new anime series and games throughout the rest of this year and into 2025. I learned a lot about what JRPGs are and as we may know, video games are also new to me. So I am having my husband pull out his favorites to show to me. I love going to these conventions and learning about new things to love. It is a very satisfying way to do this job.
