With July being so busy we decided to watch this movie twice in a row. Now watching Shang-Chi twice in a row was a lot. Both mentally and emotionally because the movie is so bad. I have included my version of the script that I outlined this time. Again there are really no details with this, just some broad strokes as to what could have made the movie better. As we have talked about on the podcast there are about 1000 ways this movie could have been written better. And another 1000 that stuck closer to the source material. The writers simply chose to ignore these possibilities and they gave us a very poorly thought out, thrown together film. Shang-Chi is one of the, now many films in the MCU that is simply a ton of wasted potential. It could have been so good. But now it lays on a pile of failures with The Eternals, all of the Thor and Iron Man sequels and Age of Ultron. All movies that could have been good but suffered from lack of development.
