Fair warning I am a lot buzzed this episode. That is to say that I really didn’t have that much to say about Shang-Chi this week. I was vibin and we watched the movie at double speed which made it way more tolerable for me. That said, Patrick had lots to say this week. He really had some never ending rants. We, once again, went on a lot of tangents. We talked about the best thing about the DC universe. recommended some good shows and I drunkenly explained how Jean Grey works with the Phoenix. Now I point out that I was drunk because 1) I mixed up Phoenix Force with the Phoenix Five, and 2) I sort of omitted any explanation of the Phoenix Force entirely. Good news, if you actually wanted to know about those things I have another podcast for you to listen to.
Now we did talk about Shang-Chi a little bit. Even if the conversation deviated….a lot. Mostly I had questions about the actual ten rings today. They are a somewhat important entity in the film. I mean they earned title billing with Sean. And yet we know remarkably little about them. Despite the movie promising more information several times. We are starting to feel very gaslit by the film. And by the general public for that matter, because apparently a lot of people think this movie is good. Unfortunately those people are just objectively wrong and they have poor taste. Proof that not everyone has opinions worth listening to.
