We went to go see Twisters this past weekend. Glen Powell really can generate chemistry with absolutely nothing. There were parts that were funny, and entertaining and even actually good. That said, not even Glen’s incredible magnetism could save this movie from mediocrity. There was really nothing extremely wrong with the film but there was also nothing extremely good about it. So let’s talk about Twisters.

We know that I really hate movies that could have been really good. I think wasted potential is probably the worst crime that a film can commit. This film could have been a really great story about grief, PTSD, moving on from loss and rediscovering love and passion. And instead the movie was none of those things. It really was just about storm chasing and it was very surface level.
Overall, it was a movie. It wasn’t terrible and it most definitely wasn’t good but it will live in middle tier mediocrity forever. I give it a very generous and solid 5/10, Glen Powell really carried the movie on his back. The supporting characters that were a part of Tylers crew were really good. They were fun and interesting. My only complaint was just that there wasn’t enough of them. Now I am fundamentally against remakes so that doesn’t help this movie’s case either. The movie was really just okay.
