Lisa Frankenstein has been on my to watch list for a very long time. I love the cast, the vibes from the trailer are immaculate and honestly any movie set in the 80s gets my attention. So we are finally sitting my ass down and watching it. I will say that right off the bat I am in love with the opening sequence, it feels very Tim Burton-esque…the early years. It was also written and directed by women which we should know by now makes me very excited. And I have very high hopes for this movie so let’s dive in.

Honestly on just a story level I would probably only give this movie a 7/10 but because the vibes are immaculate and I love the 80s storytelling devices I am bumping it up an extra point. So overall the film gets an 8/10. It’s not perfect but it’s a really fun watch and I really think it has good rewatchability. The dialogue is awesome, that is really one of Diablo Cody’s specialties. I think that the movie does a great job of blending Heathers, Beetlejuice and even a little bit of Carrie into one story. Lisa Frankenstein is a fun time and I know that other people have said otherwise but those people are wrong and hate fun.
