Smaller productions have been able to tell some incredible stories this year, among them being NEON productions which has just been cranking them out. One of the films that NEON produced this year is called Babes. I was excited to see this one because it seemed slightly less intense then some of the other movies they produced this year and I was excited for a comedy.

They end up moving a few blocks away from each other. It’s a cute movie, I feel like we don’t get a lot of movies that are actually about female friendships. Its actually one of my main complaints in most movies and tv shows. Female friendships are often written by men and therefore are written horribly. Certainly not ones that take place into adulthood. I feel like this movie very clearly fills a gap that is needed. Adult female friendships that change with life events are super important to see. So many things can force friendships apart and I think this film also does a good job of showing the work it takes to maintain them. I loved it, I thought it was funny and adorable and the depiction of the best friendship was super accurate. It gets a solid 8.5/10.
