Okay so we know that I love scary movies and I watch a lot of them. But there has been this trend, specifically on Netflix lately of scary TV shows. None of which I have ever really gotten into. I just never sat down long enough to get through one of them. I would argue that this trend started with the release of the Haunting of Hill House. I remember living with girls at the time that absolutely loved it and I had only seen glimpses but never the whole show. Well we recently started watching it and I have to say I understand the fixation.

Overall I really love the show. I am not sure what took me so long to watch it but Mike Flanagan did a fantastic job and he has so many more projects on Netflix that I can not wait to watch. He is clearly a creator that has found his style (including actors he likes to work with) and I think that’s great. I also think delivering scary stories in a TV show format is brilliant. I think there is more narrative potential in TV and to use that to explore fear is genius.
