Some of the most popular The Boys characters are actually the ladies and we were graced with the presence of Erin Moriarty and Karen Fukuhara at LACC this year. Now Starlight and Kimiko are literally my favorite characters (along with Frenchie) so getting to see them was great. Karen Fukuhara’s presence made me cry at last year’s LACC. She is so beautiful and talented and I seriously can’t keep it together around her.
Karen was talking about landing one of her dream roles (which was really just any character in a Studio Ghibli movie) as she will be in the voice cast for the American dub of the newest Miyazaki movie, The Boy and the Heron. I then started bouncing up and down in the press pit because my lovely husband had introduced me to Studio Ghibli and I completely fell in love with the films. And I happened to be wearing my Kiki’s Delivery Service shirt which they both took a moment to fawn over, completely making my day.
I truly love hearing about casts that truly love each other and love spending time together. And it seems like The Boys cast is just that. From Karen Fukuhara and Tomer’s unbelievably adorable friendship to the entire cast being overwhelmingly supportive of each other. It seems like Erik Kripke has fostered a productive and kind environment and the entire cast has nothing but good things to say about him, the show and each other.
It might be looking like season 4 is the last season of The Boys but we know that the cast is in it until the end, no matter when that is. I am personally hoping for a season 5 but we just don’t know what’s in the works yet.
