It seems that the genre of romantic comedies have made a comeback. For the first time since the late 90s romantic comedies were released in a wave this year. 6 romantic comedies is a lot for a single year and yet here we are. Some were fantastic and some were really really not. But that said we’ve ranked superhero movies and animated movies so I thought that we should rank the romantic comedies of the year. We are going to take this list from worst to best.

This year has been reminiscent of the 90s or early 2000s with the amount of rom coms that we have gotten and it has been a blessing. Now obviously none of these movies are going to be granted any awards because this is a genre that is directed at women and we all know that if something is aimed at women it can’t possibly be valid, credible or worthy of any kind of praise. Despite the fact that women are the reason that the Beatles were popular and the reason Star Trek still exists, ya know two things that men routinely try to claim for themselves.
I am a huge fan of romantic comedies and so getting so many this year was amazing. Obviously not every movie is going to be amazing but of the 6 romantic comedies that were released this year only 1 of them was bad, another mediocre. The rest were quite enjoyable to watch and most will be put into the regular rotation of viewing. 2023 was another impeccable year for movies. And though next year will be a little sparse due to the duel strike there is so much creativity and magic bursting from Hollywood right now that I can’t imagine a quality dip anytime soon.
