We are 10 weeks in to An Idea of All Time watching Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This week we watched a new edit of the film. We took out all of the flashbacks and organized them in chronological order and we watched them all up top. Then we got on with the rest of the movie. I will say that it really helped the pacing and tone of the first half of the movie but the pacing of the rest of the film is still terrible. We are going to have to go through the next couple of months with no fancy tricks or ways to keep this interesting, which is really gonna test both my creativity and my sanity. We will then consider getting some guests on and finding other ways to get through the next 8 months…God 8 months sounds so long. Watch me slowly descend into madness as we continue to watch the most mediocre movie of all time.

Theoretically we will be getting a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings but there is no release date and no information on plot or cast. Simu is confident that the project is still happening. But with no information on production. And no information on how Simu’s contract is formatted there is no guarantee that a sequel will ever happen. Actor’s aren’t actually a reliable source for what projects are and aren’t being produced. And there has been no information about the production of the sequel in the last 5 years, so it doesn’t seem likely.
