Last week’s episode of House of the Dragon was the best episode of the series so far. Rook’s Rest was emotional, action packed and entertaining. But there is still a lot of music left to this dance and I am now hopeful that the show will not retreat into unnecessary and unimpactful events. There will obviously be some fallout from what happened in the last episode, let’s see if the writers have finally found their footing in House of the Dragon season 2, episode 5.

We have got 3 more episodes this season, the penultimate episode being specially screened at San Diego Comic Con. I am not quite sure how many battles into the dance we are going to get. In the grand scheme of things this war didn’t actually last very long. And it does seem that the show is keeping the same sort of timeline. Well in House of the Dragon season 2, episode 5 the writers have in fact, not found their footing. They are just hellbent on destroying Daemon’s character for some reason. I am fully convinced that they never picked up the damn book. And as Daemon is Martin’s favorite character these dumbass greens on the internet can stop with the whole “But Martin approves!” crap. He wrote a whole blog post on how adapters should not deviate from the source material and you people genuinely think that he meant all adaptations except for the ones based off of his work? Really? Greens really don’t have any common sense. We end this episode with Corlys seemingly accepting the title of hand and Rhaenyra hatching a plan to acquire more dragon riders. This was some beautiful set up and I hope they pay it off properly next episode.
