Last we left our intrepid heroes Annie beat the shit out of Firecracker on live television. Firecracker also admitted to raping a 15 year old boy on live television but no one seemed to care about that. Butcher’s brain problem seems to have a life of its own and it is causing Butcher to hallucinate, blackout and potentially retain some of the power he had from the Compound V. Frenchie confessed his secret to his boyfriend, Kimiko had a showdown with the girl from the little fighting ring she was raised in. And Huey gave his dad some V and that perhaps saved his life? Hopefully in The Boys season 4 episode 5 we will find out.

We round out this episode with no virus, Annie kind of losing her mind. Neumann takes her adopted father back after losing her baby daddy. Sam and Cate from Gen V have now been introduced. Homelander gives the 7 a very demented speech about how they shouldn’t be heroes, they should be “wrathful gods”. Frenchie turns himself in and poor Huey has to kill his dad so that he stops hurting people. Proving that Huey has grown as a person. Honestly this episode was so much more emotional than I had anticipated. This show has invoked a lot of emotions over its seasons, but mostly it’s anger. I have never watched this show and felt such sadness. The Boys season 4, episode 5 did an incredible job of connecting the audience and the characters. This season really has become more than just social/political commentary, they are running with the internal struggles and executing them very well.
