In Hazbin Hotel Episode 5 we get to meet Charlie’s father, Lucifer for the first time. And I need to turn in my theatre kid card because it wasn’t until his second song that I realized that it was Jeremy Jordan. I know. I am very ashamed. He joins kind of a long list of Broadway royalty that are involved in this show. But that said I love Jeremy Jordan and am now hoping for more Lucifer next season. Now we still haven’t met Charlie’s mom so maybe that is coming soon as well? I hope.
Now the dynamic I actually really liked was Lucifer and Alistair, they very clearly both feel very protective over Charlie. So it was kind of nice to see them kind of fight over her and vie for her affection. We have obviously seen a lot more of Alastair then we have of Lucifer so as far as who is actually better for her I think that is pretty clear. In Hazbin Hotel episode 5 I feel like the story moved a lot quicker then some of the other episodes. But I am hoping that it opened the door to having Lucifer a lot more involved. He got her a meeting with the angels. And he did come to her as soon as she called him. All that said I would kind of like to know why they didn’t talk for so long. And what led them to being so estranged. We also know nothing of Lilith. So I would like to know how she fits into this. Why weren’t her and Lucifer together? How do they feel about the exterminations. I feel like there are a lot more family dynamics to explore here. I love the found family concept but that works so much better when it is in direct contrast with an existing family.
