We took quite a long hiatus from our MCU Rewatch and for that we are sorry, but we are back and we will be better about being on top of this. We are firmly in the middle of phase 3. Phase 3 is regularly regarded as the best phase of the MCU and we are seeing if that holds up. We watched todays entry which was Black Panther. It has been a top tier MCU movie since its release. And Patrick has not watched it since it first came out. So watching it together was great. It most definitely holds up. I miss Chadwick Boseman terribly. Our ranking lists are really shaping up. When we discuss the MCU as a whole we are going to see how the lists end up as well as how they change when ranking based on different requirements.
Both Black Panther films are pretty incredible and absolutely top tier MCU films. They are also arguably some of the better films the MCU has to offer. I remember the impact this movie had when it was first release and I can only imagine how much it still means to the people it is meant for. Disney and Marvel actually did really well with this movie. And it is just part of the incredible legacy that Chadwick Boseman left behind. His death still makes me incredibly sad and his absence will always be felt in the MCU. At least for me. Black Panther will always hold a special place in my heart simply for its societal and cultural impact.
