So we did our fair share of speculating. And of course we did our fair share of wishing. Like every year after the Oscar nominations were released there was some questioning and complaining from the internet, despite this year actually being pretty reasonable. In fact the last couple of years have really only had a couple of what the fuck? entries. That said the last couple of years have also had some extremely big snubs. I will never not be mad about The Color Purple or Origin not receiving the love that they deserve. There was really only one or two instances of that this year. The only entire film that was snubbed was I Saw The TV Glow. But there were a couple of nominated films that simply did not get enough nominations.

As far as predicting who will actually win the awards I think that is pretty simple. The academy hates women, musicals, and horror so that counts out about half of nearly every category. So really guessing on the winners is a no brainer. But none the less, the Oscar nominations for 2025 are out and we are discussing the biggest snubs and surprises and complaining about the internet’s complaining.
