So my delightful husband listens to a podcast called the worst idea of all time, it is centered around friends watching bad movies every week for an entire year. Now I can’t watch bad movies more then once, it will simply make me too frustrated that I am writing and haven’t sold anything yet. So we decided to watch aggressively mediocre movies. We also decided to keep it interesting and not go for an entire year, we are only choosing movies with numbers in the titles and we are doing it for that amount of months. We are calling it An Idea of All Time. And we are starting with Shang Chi: The Legend of the 10 Rings.

This movie was chosen because when I think of mediocre but watchable I think of Marvel. I’m sorry, I am the biggest MCU fan but of the 33 projects they have out there is a very clear top 10, and those top 10 are the only films that can actually be considered good. Not good for Marvel, but just good stand alone movies. And then there is the other end of the spectrum with truly terrible films. And then there’s those 10-12 films that simply exist. Shang Chi is genuinely a movie that I forgot about, so that seemed like a decent place to start.
