I am quickly losing my mind. Watch me just lose my will to live as this podcast continues. Marvel should issue an apology for literally everything surrounding Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. From the truly lazy writing, to the just lack of awareness and passion in the filmmaking; then we add in the fact that this movie has absolutley nothing to do with the MCU. With the exception of a throwaway line about the blip there is nothing about this film that ties it into the greater MCU.
There has also been no word on the sequel for Shang-Chi. We never really had a whole lot of information on it anyone, other then its happening. But there have been zero updates from anyone credible. Simu seems to think that it is still happening, but its been labeled as “in development” for the last few years. I really don’t think we are getting a sequel and I really don’t want one. I think that the executives over at Marvel are simply running out the clock on Simu’s contract. He doesn’t have that much of a fanbase anymore and there is a strong group of people who actively avoid projects that he is in. So I actually think it would be better if Marvel just dropped him and this project. It really didn’t set anything relevant up for the MCU that needs to be followed up on.
