We are now halfway through our MCU rewatch of phase 3 and it opens up the question of adaptations. There have been many Spidermen, and more then a few live action, but there has only been one that is actually comic book accurate. Spiderman Homecoming and Tom Holland are the peak of live action Spiderman adaptations. Not only does he return to his street level roots, but some of the shots from the movie are straight out of the comics. Tom’s spidey is the most authentic to who the character should be. And he had a personal endorsement from Stan Lee, which should be all the proof anyone needs.

We are almost to Infinity War and Endgame which is going to spark some discussions that might make some MCU fans mad. And for that I am not at all sorry. I do need to catch up on making drinking games for a lot of these as that kind of fell off but I promise I will have them up soon. Spiderman Homecoming also does a really great job of introducing Spiderman in a way that isn’t tired or overdone. At this point everyone knows Spidey’s origin story. Even people who don’t care about superheroes know Spiderman and how he came to be. His presence has permeated so much of pop culture. So the MCU’s new angle on his introduction was actually refreshing and much needed. His trilogy is one of the strongest in the MCU. And like Guardians his character development and arc only get better every movie. Tom Holland is undoubtedly the best Spiderman.
