We have reached one of our last origin stories in phase 3, Doctor Strange. Now I have never been a huge Doctor Strange fan. His comic book counterpart is kind of a little bitch who is pretty weak shit. And they super overpowered him in the MCU but the film is actually one of the best MCU films. The visuals, pacing and acting are some of the best we’ve gotten from Marvel or will get from Marvel. And Benedict Cumberbatch is truly an inspired casting choice.
This episode is a little longer because we just had a lot to say. Mostly good things and then some really random nitpicks about the MCU as a whole. This film had very few flaws and some of the things we complain about aren’t even MCU specific. You get to hear me have a slight anxiety spiral trying to decide how to rank Doctor Strange. We are about halfway through our MCU rewatch but there is so much left to go. Patrick has yet to give any MCU film above an 8.5 or below a 4. And I have yet to give anything a 0 or a 1. Turns out we are approaching this list very differently. I am being as objective as I possibly can. And Patrick is going with the exact opposite approach. I am loving this MCU rewatch and there are certain movies that I am super excited for. I can’t wait to see what gets Patrick’s 9/10. Make sure you keep following along with our Shang-Chi rewatch.
