Now deep into phase 3 of our MCU rewatch Thor Ragnarok continues to remind us that not all movies can be winners. Now the internet opinion among some MCU fans, a very aggressive few, is that Thor Ragnarok is one of the best MCU movies to date. I fervently disagree with this. And thus starts my stream of unpopular opinions to be heard in this weeks podcast episode. And really this is just the start. When we enter phase 4 I am sure to have so many unpopular opinions and hot takes.
I honestly think that the reason people like this movie so much is simply because Thor 2 was so incredibly bad. And Thor fans were just relieved to have another movie that felt different and like someone wanted to get creative with their favorite boring ass character. I think Taika is an incredible filmmaker, this just maybe wasn’t the project that he was meant for. That said I really loved Love and Thunder and I think people had unrealistic expectations regarding that movie. We both ranked it in the bottom half of our MCU rankings. But we also have so many highs coming. The MCU gets just so much better.
