Quantumania Review

Every time a Marvel movie is finally released the internet explodes, the trend now is to immediately shit on it whether the quality of the movie is good or bad. Reality is nothing to the internet so of course when Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania came out the internet did its thing. Now I saw this one a little later than normal so all I heard was how terrible this movie was and I am convinced that that opinion came from people who didn’t have the faintest clue who Kang was before this movie, thereby they needed this movie and their opinion is invalid. The reality of the film is that it was an Antman movie, nothing spectacular but it definitely was not bad.

I will say the only other thing I hate is that the MCU continues to brush aside the fact that Hank Pym is a bad person. He was a wife beater and piss poor excuse for a husband and father. I understand that the MCU didn’t want audiences to hate him but making him a full on family man was a bit much. I don’t ever demand full comic book accuracy but I do like characterizations to at least be vaguely similar.

As a Marvel movie it (and all of the Antman movies) are bottom mid-tier. They aren’t spectacular and groundbreaking, but they aren’t offensive and terrible either. They are mediocre and fun and yall need to start acknowledging movies as what they are instead of shitting all over movies for not being what they were in your head. A majority of Marvel’s catalog is mediocre both comics and the MCU, expecting more than that is ridiculous. The phenomenal stories are few and far between and that’s just the way it is. I give Antman and the Wasp; Quantumania a 6/10. I think it fits right in with the rest of the Antman movies therefore being one of the only consistent trilogies in the MCU.
